💬 Parenting Out Loud: I Used to Think… Until I Had Kids
What belief or assumption did parenting flip upside down for you?
We all walk into parenthood carrying a set of beliefs—about kids, about ourselves, about how things should go. And then reality shows up: sleepless nights, strong-willed toddlers, complicated teenagers, and every beautiful, messy moment in between.
At some point, we realize we’ve had to let go of something we were sure we’d never compromise on—or we’ve grown in ways we didn’t expect. Maybe we softened. Maybe we toughened up. Maybe we discovered we were wrong about something we once defended passionately.
Maybe you swore you’d never co-sleep, bribe with snacks, or let your kid quit mid-season. Maybe you assumed parenting would be intuitive, or that you’d always love it. Maybe you thought you had all the answers—until your kid asked a question you couldn’t Google your way out of.
What did you believe before parenting that you see differently now?

I used to believe I knew what exhaustion was until we had our son. Those newborn months can push you to the absolute limit.
